Cosmetology Summary

The Brio Academy teaches a comprehensive course of Hairdressing and Cosmetology approved by the State of Connecticut and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This course includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Hair Coloring
  • Haircutting
  • Hairstyling
  • Physiology
  • Salesmanship
  • Shampooing
  • Professional Business Training
  • Manicuring
  • Scalp Treatment
  • Finger Waving
  • Permanent Waving
  • Cosmetic Chemistry
  • Anatomy
  • Sanitation
  • Hygiene

Student Requirements: 17 years of age and GED/High School Diploma are required for completion.

Brio Academy offers both full-time and part-time classes.  Part time days is available only in Connecticut to those with mitigating schedule circumstances.

CONNECTICUT:

Day Schedule (Full-time):     
30 hours per week for 50 weeks        Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00 pm           

Day Schedule (Part-time):
22 hours per week for 68.25 weeks   Monday-Thursday 9:00am-3:00pm

Eve Schedule (Full-time):
22 hours per week for 68.25 weeks   Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-9:30pm, and Saturday 9:00am-4:30pm

Eve Schedule (Part-time):
15 hours per week for 100 weeks      Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-9:30pm        

Upon successful completion of this course and after passing a State Board Exam, you will be qualified as a new Licensed Hairdresser/Cosmetologist/Barber in the state of Connecticut.

MASSACHUSETTS:

Day Schedule (Full-time):
30 Hours per week for 34 weeks           Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00 pm           

Eve Schedule (Part-time):
15 Hours per week for 67 weeks          Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-9:30pm    

Upon successful completion a course in Cosmetology, Esthetics or Nail Technology, pass the written and practical state exam, you will be qualified for a license in your course of study.
